Before, After, Until
Se llama time clauses a las
proposiciones de tiempo, es decir a las frases que indican cuándo ocurre la
acción indicada por el verbo. Por
ejemplo:
Ann brushes her teeth before she goes to bed.
Ann se cepilla los dientes antes de irse a la cama.
Ann se cepilla los dientes antes de irse a la cama.
Para eso sirve la palabra before que muestra que la acción de cepillarse los dientes ocurre antes que la acción de irse a la cama.
Veamos a continuación otro tipo de time clause, con la palabra after:
Ann goes to bed after she brushes her teeth.
Ann se va a la cama después de cepillarse los dientes.
Aquí, el adverbio after muestra que la acción de irse a la cama ocurre después que la acción de cepillarse los dientes.
Peter reads a book until his father comes.
Pedro lee un libro hasta que su padre llegue.
